Vision, Mission and Goals for 2008

Willapa UMC

Vision, Mission and Goals for 2008

Vision

The Willapa United Methodist Church will become a focal point for the revival and renewal of Christ's Church in the Willapa Valley area.

Mission

The Willapa United Methodist Church will make a difference in the lives of the people who live in and visit the Willapa Valley area by serving God and one another, and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ in words and deeds.

Goals

1.   Develop and implement a second worship service during the traditional Sunday School hour that will incorporate the Sunday School opening and closing, and a more contemporary style.

2.      Work with other United Methodist Churches in the Twin Harbors area to develop a regional plan for becoming a more missional and evangelical church, and a sub-regional plan for the Willapa Harbor area.

3.      Explore the establishment of a small group ministry for providing member-to-member care and communication.

4.      Continue completing the steps necessary to be certified as an Igniting Ministry Welcoming Congregation.

5.      Increase worship attendance to an average of 70 per week.

6.      Increase worship attendance by young people to an average of 10 children and 5 youth per week.

7.      Remain financially self-sufficient while continuing to meet all commitments.

8.      Complete construction of the new parsonage.

9.      Begin the structured replacement and repair of the exterior of the historical church building.

10.  Initiate Disciple Bible Study Courses and a Marriage Mentoring program.
